Job Title: Investment & Monetary Controls Associate

Location: Dallas, TX
Pay Rate: $23.44/hr W2
Duration: 7 Months (with possible extension)
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH
Start: ASAP

Job Description:

The Investment and Monetary Controls Teams are integral to Global Wealth & Investment Management and Private Bank. This department manages custody and settlement of assets, invoicing and revenue collection, and sub-accounting services such as recordkeeping. Teams collaborate daily with Financial Advisors, Investment Managers, and internal/external business partners to provide operational support for Merrill Lynch and Private Bank accounts.

The Balancing and Reconciliation Department is responsible for managing relationships and services for over 30,000 securities, resolving discrepancies, ensuring settlement accuracy, supporting dividend distributions, and providing data reporting services.

This role offers opportunities to develop leadership, project management, and technological skills in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze daily outages caused by trade, corporate action, or non-trade discrepancies
• Provide timely updates to management through immediate communication or weekly highlights
• Assist in updating procedural documentation and process maps
• Participate in system testing, internal audits, and third-party audits
• Identify, escalate, and manage risks effectively
• Lead projects and special assignments as needed
• Act as subject matter expert in break analysis and outage resolution
• Partner with internal/external teams to resolve inquiries
• Train and provide guidance to junior team members

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in reconciliation, billing, project management, trading, or managed products support
• Knowledge of product types (Mutual Funds, Alternative Investments, Managed Products, etc.) within an operational setting
• General knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude
• Understanding of workflows, systematic interfaces, and data processes
• Technological aptitude to drive process improvements
• Ability to work independently and resolve complex situations
• Intellectually curious with a focus on deep business process understanding
