As a Mechanical Assembler, you will enhance and support an environment where all team members are able to participate in CI (continuous improvement) and utilize tools on a daily basis.
What You Will Do: - Build large and small components of life rafts using many different types of materials
- Document required steps and signatures for quality assurance
- Follow quality procedures and documentation accurately
- Bond materials together using adhesives
- Maintain high levels of quality
- Maintain high levels of safety for yourself and others and responsible for wearing/using defined PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Work and communicate effectively in a complex team environment
- 100% of time spent on production floor with variable amounts of noise
- Constant daily exposure to adhesive and solvent vapors.
- Ability to wear gloves (including latex) to protect hands while working with production chemicals.
- Minimal exposure to machinery with moving parts
- Ability to use and manipulate clamps, brushes (with gloves on), pushers, scissors, seam tape and talc
Qualifications You Must Have: - Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
Qualifications We Prefer: - Manufacturing/assembly experience
- Ability to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment
- Must be able to individually lift and/or carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds
