Cedar Park Group is hiring a Forensic Anthropology Fellow.
Schedule/Shift: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (35 hours per week)
Program Dates: January 1 2026 December 31 2026
Cedar Park Group is seeking a Forensic Anthropology Fellow for a one-year immersive hands-on training program. This fellowship offers the opportunity to gain experience in forensic anthropology casework scene recoveries trauma interpretation and decedent identification in an accredited laboratory environment. Fellows will work alongside experienced forensic anthropologists and other professionals to develop their technical analytical and operational skills in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
This program is designed for candidates who have completed their Ph.D. in Anthropology (Forensic or Biological) and are looking to build practical experience applying forensic anthropological theory and techniques in real-world casework.
Participate in forensic anthropology casework including skeletal and cartilaginous trauma analysis.
Assist with scene recoveries decedent identification and cold case reviews.
Support ongoing large-scale identification projects and forensic documentation.
Contribute to maintaining quality management processes such as competency and proficiency testing peer review and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Attend lectures grand rounds and other educational opportunities in medicolegal death investigation and forensic sciences.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals and contribute to the preparation of reports and case documentation.
Optional participation in a research or process-improvement project related to forensic anthropology.
Ph.D. in Anthropology (Forensic or Biological) from an accredited college or university.
Advanced knowledge of anthropological theory principles and analytical techniques related to skeletal identification and trauma interpretation.
Completion of graduate coursework or training in the following areas:
Human osteology
Skeletal growth and development
Skeletal pathology and trauma
Archaeological recovery techniques
Evidence handling and forensic science principles
Ethics and professionalism in forensic practice
Strong analytical writing and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience working within a medical examiner or coroners environment.
Familiarity with law enforcement collaboration and chain-of-custody procedures.
Training in histology medical imaging analysis statistics human anatomy legal procedures or forensic photography.
Proof of completed Hepatitis A and B vaccinations prior to the start date.
