The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, five medical centers, three national labs and more. Position Summary The Beneficiary Care Coordinator (BCC) will work in Employee Services reporting directly to an Employee Services Supervisor. The BCC will provide specialty service care coordination to survivors and/or beneficiaries through multiple conduits of communication (telephone, email, case management, mail, and chat). The BCC will support beneficiaries with compassion and empathy, and help to coordinate documents needed by third parties (Social Security, Supplemental Life Insurance vendors, etc.).
Key Responsibilities - 30% CUSTOMER SERVICE - Delivers a premier level of service that satisfies the needs of every beneficiary/family member. Continuously strives to improve internal practices that favorably impact customer satisfaction, productivity, and UCPath. Provides support and answers to escalated, and unique scenarios related to benefits and/or payroll by researching policies and procedures, and guides beneficiary/family members to sound resolution by asking relevant questions.
- 25% ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE - Manages sensitive information and upholds all measures of confidentiality. Gathers, analyzes, and able to comprehend legal documents including affidavits, power of attorney, probate letters of administration, guardianship, conservatorship, and estate and trust documents. Corresponds with insurance agents, internal stakeholders, and beneficiary/family members as needed.
- 15% DATA ANALYSIS - Conducts trend analyses on cases received and helps develop systemwide recommendations for process enhancements. Identifies and implements productivity reports and dashboards that support department goals.
- 20% FUNCTIONAL RESOURCE - Functions as a resource on issues such as researching complex financial or benefit discrepancies, escalated customer service scenarios, and vendor concerns. Able to resolve unique situations through research that may extend beyond immediate resources.
- 5% COLLABORATION - Participates in the development and revision of standard operating procedures and guidelines. Seeks feedback from relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the benefit of the beneficiary/family member. Frequently partners with cross-functional departments (PY/BN/WFA/FIN) and/or locations (UCOP) to solution payroll, benefit and/or HR issues. Demonstrates the ability to value and respect diversity in ideas, suggestions, perspectives and styles.
- 5% CONSULTATION: Consults on data to promote optimal use of trends derived from data. Analyzes data, with due consideration for the influence of outliers, plus confounding and extraneous variables. Reports on insights obtained, which might be utilized to inform business strategies, policy, and awareness.
Experience Required Qualifications
- Min 5 years Customer service, benefits, human resources or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Min 2 years Social services or human services
Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications
- Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability with computers and telephony systems.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive information.
- Works well independently, with minimal supervision.
- Committed presence to perform the job duties.

- Proficient in influencing and persuading decisions with colleagues, stakeholders, and other diverse groups.
Education Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

SALARY AND BENEFITS The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
Salary Grade STEPS
Payscale: $30.44 - $48.66 - an hour Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at the UCPath Center in Riverside and remote in California.
